Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data The Market Eye (“we”, “us”) collects when you use themarketeye.in, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We collect only what we need to run the service, and we do not sell your personal data.
1. What we collect
| Type | Examples | When |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Name, email address, mobile number (if given), organisation, role, plan and trial dates. Your password is stored only in a one-way hashed form — we cannot read it. | When you sign up, or when your organisation or our team creates your account |
| Your settings | Preferences, watchlist and preference stocks, saved filters, custom classifications, alert settings and dividend corrections you enter | When you save them |
| Sign-in activity | Date and time of sign-ins, sign-outs and failed attempts; IP address; browser / device type; approximate location (city, state, country) worked out from the IP address | Each time you sign in or out |
| Usage statistics | Pages opened, stocks and mutual-fund schemes viewed, searches made — linked to your account when you are signed in | While you use the site |
| Emails | A record of emails we send you (verification, account and alert emails, and reports you ask us to email) and whether they were delivered | When an email is sent |
| Messages to us | Whatever you include when you write to us | When you contact us |
We do not collect payment card or bank details on this website, and we do not ask for government ID numbers. Market data shown on the site (prices, filings, holdings) comes from public exchange and industry sources and is not personal data about you.
2. How we use it
- To provide the service — create and secure your account, keep you signed in, apply your plan and access rights, and remember your settings.
- To keep accounts safe — detect unusual sign-ins, block misuse, and allow one active session per account.
- To communicate — account verification and account emails, alerts you switch on, and reports you ask for.
- To improve the product — understand which pages, stocks and reports are used most, so we can fix problems and build what is useful.
- To meet legal obligations — respond to lawful requests and keep records the law requires.
We process your data on the basis of your consent when you create an account and use the service, and for the legitimate uses permitted by law (such as security and legal compliance). We do not use your data for advertising and we do not build advertising profiles.
3. Cookies & browser storage
We use a single cookie, and only because the site needs it to work:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
session | Keeps you signed in and protects your session. It is signed, cannot be read by page scripts, and holds no advertising or tracking data. | Ends after 1 hour without activity, or when you sign out; at most 31 days |
The site also keeps a small note in your browser's local storage so it can tell you when a Stock View report you asked to be emailed has been sent. It never leaves your device.
We use no advertising, analytics or social-media tracking cookies, so there is nothing to
accept or reject. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; if you block the session cookie you will not be able to sign in.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the site, and only what they need:
- Hosting — the servers that run the website and store its database.
- Email delivery — our email hosting provider, to send the emails described above.
- IP location lookup — IP addresses from sign-ins are sent once to an IP-location service (ip-api.com) to find the approximate city, state and country. No name or email is sent with them.
- Web fonts — pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser details as part of that request. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
- Authorities — when required by law, court order or a lawful government request.
Some of these providers may process data outside India. Where they do, we use them only for the purposes above. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.
5. Organisation accounts
If your account was created by your organisation (for example your employer), that organisation's administrator can see and manage your account details, access rights and settings made within the organisation. Our platform administrators can see account and sign-in details for support and security.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and settings — while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after it is closed so we can meet legal and accounting needs.
- Sign-in activity and usage statistics — only as long as they are useful for security and product improvement; we clear them periodically.
- Email records — as long as needed to confirm delivery and handle queries.
When data is no longer needed we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable security measures, including hashed passwords, signed session cookies, automatic sign-out after inactivity, one active session per account, role-based access controls and an audit log of administrative changes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will act promptly if a breach affects you, including notifying you and the authorities where the law requires.
8. Your rights & choices
Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- See a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
- Correct or update it — most details can be changed in My settings;
- Delete your account and personal data, unless we must keep something by law;
- Withdraw consent at any time (this may mean we can no longer provide the service to you);
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf;
- Raise a grievance with us, and, if not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email us from the address on your account (see Contact). We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
9. Children
The Market Eye is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell signed-in users on the site or by email before it takes effect.
11. Contact & grievances
